Tree Pruning

Structural cuts that keep a tree healthy, well-shaped and out of trouble later

Free EstimateIndianapolis Area · Mon – Sat

Pruning is trimming with the tree's future in mind. On a young tree it means picking a strong central leader and removing the competing one before it becomes a weak fork that splits at thirty years. On a mature oak, maple or fruit tree it means removing crossing and rubbing limbs, deadwood, water sprouts and suckers, and opening the crown so the tree puts its energy into the structure that should be carrying it. Timing matters — oaks in Indiana should be pruned in the dormant season to avoid oak wilt, and we will tell you when to book it.

Our Process

1

Assess the Tree

Species, age, structure, and what it will look like in ten years if nothing is done.

2

Plan the Cuts

We explain what comes out and why — never more than the tree can afford in one season.

3

Prune

Clean cuts at the branch collar, working from the structure outward.

4

Clear & Advise

Everything hauled, and a straight answer on when the tree should be looked at again.
